Student Emergency Fund

Help Shawnee State students recover from flood damages incurred during Hurricane Helene.

Make a Gift

The Shawnee State University Development Foundation’s Student Emergency Fund supports Shawnee State students with immediate needs. On September 27, 2024, Hurricane Helene caused extensive flooding throughout our region. Many Shawnee State students lost essential items to water and flood damage across campus and student housing.

Thanks to the generosity of SSU donor Rebecca Richards Milnes, each donation to the Student Emergency Fund will be accompanied by a 1:1 match up to $25,000.

Gifts to this fund will help students replace computers, textbooks, clothing, and other essential items that have been damaged or lost by the flood. Supporting this initiative aids the SSU Development Foundation in delivering services directly to those students in need. With your help, we can work together to make sure our students are prepared to succeed during this time.
